It’s my favorite holiday of the year here in the states because unlike the rest of the holidays, this one seems the most relaxed. It’s that time of the year where all anyone wants to do it either spend time cooling down by a body of water or “opening up a cold one with the boys.”
My holiday weekend started at work on the 4th with Chicago-styled hot dogs. Festivities continued at work with a viewing of the fireworks show with my coworkers Kate, Jess, Breanna, & Brenda. At that moment, I was reminded of how great Disney is at putting on a show. I was not expecting them to light up the entire sky, but they did that.
The holiday weekend then took me to Wekiwa Springs State Park with Taryn & Lindsey. It was crowded as expected with a holiday weekend, though it was worth the wait as the natural, cool spring was better than a chlorine filled tub of water. If you plan on going, I recommend bringing an inflatable floaty to relax on, sunscreen, a towel, & maybe one of those foldable chairs.
